A closer look inside every turnout
Multi-angle video inspection for component-level turnout maintenance
What is Plasser TurnoutView?
Plasser TurnoutView is a modular image-based inspection system designed specifically for turnouts and crossings. Derived from Plasser TrackView technology, it uses a turnout-specific camera layout to capture rail surfaces, turnout blades, crossings, rail fastenings, sleepers, joints, and other critical components from complementary viewing angles. The system is available as Plasser TurnoutView and Plasser TurnoutView Pro. It supports visual evidence review while Plasser TurnoutView Pro also offers automated asset identification and defect analysis, with optional integration with Plasser TurnoutGeometry for combined visual and geometric condition assessment.
Benefits
- Reduced need for manual turnout inspections
- Virtual walk-through inspection
- Earlier detection of component degradation
- Complete assessment of complex turnout areas
- Enhanced insights when combined with geometry data
- Consistent data quality across the networ
Turnout-specific image acquisition
Plasser TurnoutView adapts the modular TrackView architecture to the specific complexity of turnouts and crossings. Its dedicated multicamera configuration provides expanded visual coverage from complementary viewing angles, capturing turnout blades, crossings, guard rails, rail fastenings, sleepers, joints, and other critical areas requiring dedicated inspection.
Multi-angle component inspection
Turnout inspection includes overlapping components, narrow gaps, and partially hidden surfaces that cannot be reliably assessed from a single viewpoint. Multi-angle image acquisition improves visual access to safety-critical areas, supporting a more complete and consistent assessment of turnout condition during regular inspection runs.
Automated asset and defect analysis
Plasser TurnoutView Pro supports automated identification and localization of turnout components from high-resolution image data. Selected assets and defect classes can be automatically recognized and assessed, providing a structured basis for component-level condition evaluation and maintenance follow-up.
Combined component-level insight
Plasser TurnoutView can operate independently or together with Plasser TurnoutGeometry. Visual information can be synchronized with geometry data to support combined assessment of turnout condition. Plasser TurnoutView Pro automatically identified assets and defects can be associated with specific turnout components, enabling more object-specific maintenance decisions.
Plasser TurnoutView
Multi-angle image acquisition for localized visual review and documentation of turnout blades, crossings, guard rails, fastenings, sleepers, joints, and other turnout components.
Plasser TurnoutView Pro
Enhanced system with automated asset identification and defect analysis, supporting component-level localization, structured condition assessment, and maintenance follow-up.
