Automated eyes on track
Real-time AI image inspection for safer, automated track monitoring
What is Plasser TrackView Pro?
Plasser TrackView Pro is a modular video inspection system for automated monitoring of rail surfaces, rail webs, joint areas, welds, rail fastenings, sleepers, ballast, and other track components. Built on proprietary high-speed linear cameras, LED illumination, and AI-based analysis, it acquires high-resolution images and detects defects in real time at speeds of up to 160 km/h. Its configurable architecture supports unattended operation, precise defect localization, backoffice data transfer and customization for different inspection portfolios and vehicle platforms.
Benefits
- Greater inspection safety
- Less manual track inspections
- Earlier response to critical defects
- Faster network condition assessment
- Reduced inspection effort
- Inspection focused on network priorities
- Actionable maintenance insights
Modular image acquisition
Plasser TrackView Pro is based on a modular and distributed acquisition architecture. Each high-speed camera is dedicated to a specific inspection zone, such as rail head, rail web, joints, rail fastenings or the track bed, preserving native image streams without stitching or post-acquisition reconstruction. Sub-millimetric optical resolution enables detailed inspection of rail surfaces and critical track components.
Real-time AI defect detection
The system combines AI-based algorithms with rule-based image processing to detect and classify defects directly during the inspection run. High-resolution images are processed in real time, enabling automated defect detection at up to 160 km/h. Detected anomalies can be associated with precise localization data and transmitted to downstream systems for immediate review or follow-up action.
Broad defect detection portfolio
Plasser TrackView Pro supports a broad and expandable portfolio of defect classes across rail surface, rail side, rail fastenings, fishplates, sleepers, and ballast. Detectable conditions include corrugation, RCF, squats, wheel burn, cracks, missing or defective rail fastenings, missing or loose bolts, cracked fishplates, sleeper defects, mud spots, and vegetation affecting inspection.
Scalable and operator-free
The system is engineered for fully autonomous inspection runs, with automatic image acquisition, real-time analysis, data storage, and reporting. Detected defects and selected image data can be transferred to the back office or asset management environments, supporting unattended operation. The modular hardware and software architecture allows new cameras, illumination modules, and analysis functions to be integrated for project-specific needs.
